Valerie DudleyI am from Bethel, where I was born and raised and have a large extended Yup’ik/Athabascan/Inupiaq family.
While I have a degree in Elementary Education, I have been in child welfare for over 10 years and have worked for AVCP’s ICWA Department and the Alaska CASA program. Through both of these jobs, I discovered I have a passion for promoting and helping to prepare culturally competent professionals to work with Alaska Native families. I am a Knowing Who You Are facilitator/certifier and core member of Yuut Kellutestiit~ People for Equitable Outcomes (a coalition in the Bethel area working to promote racial equity). At the Child Welfare Academy, I anticipate putting my work history and passions to use as a trainer to best prepare child welfare professionals to work with Alaska’s diverse population of children and families. |
